so my mom's had orthoscopic surgery on her knee. (all went well, and is a v. no-big-deal kind of surgery) so now she can't move around much - right after the surgery she had to stay in bed all the time. So we're having to do a lot more around the house and also take care of her at the same time. And by we i mostly mean me. Cause dad's at work all the time, and andrew refuses to do anything. He completely went off on her the DAY after she had surgery cause he didn't want to have to be woken up to drive me to work at 3PM. i never get to sleep that late :( dunno why he gets away with all the stuff he does. he's constantly blasting his horrible music and won't turn it down when we ask. then he sings along which makes me want to tear his throat out cause it's like a dog throwing up. And when dad gets home he's angry if there's dishes in the sink or anything, even if i've been at work during the day too. of COURSE andrew shouldn't be expected to do anything, he's too busy hanging out with his little girl friend. The one time mom got him to help - he ruined some laundry by putting clean clothes in the basket that was used to hold old doggie towels. then he threw a fit when mom wanted him to do it over and got upset.

AARGH there's just so much annoyance going on and i'm just wanting to hide from it all cause i really am sick of everything. Honestly haven't got energy to do anything, i have a day off from work now and i just can't think of anything i've got the inclination to do. have to finish typing up some budget type stuff though, but i keep finding thinhgs wrong with it, and getting upset at my ignorance about somethings or when i'm unsure about others... makes me feel really unprepared and/or sheltered. it also makes me feel good about some things when i reaize that i've already got a bunch of things done, so that's good.

mebbe later i'll write about some experiences i've had at work, so my lj is not just for whining and posting memes... altho that may indeed be the sole purpose of LJ.

There's an Arthur book with the Backstreet Boys in it. As bunny rabbits. And aardvarks.

oh yes, my eyes bled. and cause you must share my pain, Here's the link

while i'm at it, there's two other books whose covers have amusedme for a while.

the oddly named :
(Honestly a toddler workbook)

and the femmeslashtastic:
(ah disney, you make me so happy inside)

so fucking tired

Internet is still broken, hopefully will hold out til i post this.

So, short sum-up of my past few (four or five, cant really remember) days.

Starts with me making the (ultimately stupid) decision to go with my dad to the mall before i have to work that evening. It was wonderful as I found a really cute bell/angel for my grandma (who collects both) and presents for my mom too. Am told that I am wonderful and awesome for getting cool pressie for derek to give to my mom. generally fun times except that i had cuts on the bottoms of my feets and they started to kill from all the walking around. Also, dad took so long in store that i had barely enough time to get ready for work.

Work was horrid. people were nasty and every time i turned around someone was asking for something that they needed shipped before xmas (impossible, natch).

send computer out to be fixed. Comes back a few days ago still nt fixed but now missing one of it's little feeties so it's off kilter.

get home at midnight, eat, sleep.

suffer from insomnia of the type where you wake up in the middle of the night feelin like you just narrowly escaped death by asphyxiation in your sleep.

wake up for almost-opening shift, work til evening then forced to clean up around house, then xmas tree (i think, not sure of days anymore)

more long workdays after almost no sleep. feet hurt lots.

get yelled at for inability to respond to texts. thoght i was being wonderful for doing extra hours at work. am told am to wake up to real world. am sad while waiting for brother to fnish getting high and fucking his 15 year old so i can go home.

blah blah blah, more non-sleep, more work, more feel like crap, more family yelling at each other.

fastforward to xmas where my calls are ignored and i get to feel like crap. get pretty gifts for xmas. can't remember what.

stop reading stupid books cause they make me too sad.

Get phone call this morning that grandma's in hospital for a minor problem but they're keeping her there to find out the problem and now we're driving down maybe tonight maybe tomorrow night.

still ahve no phone calls returned. too sad.

have no idea why i just wrote all this out, as i skipped a lot of the important parts and said a lot of the unimportant parts, but i'm justsad now so i want to not feel so alone and that noone caresabout me. would also be angry if i had the energy for it.

am pushing my luck with computer now, shall post an then see if AIM will work again

so my interwub is temporarily workin again, woo!
ty for all who responded to my last post, i was unable to get back online to say when i got a ride tho! (ty bobby!)

my trip to LI was TOTALLY SWEET and i had an absolute rockin time. also, my grandma loved her party.

I am TOTAlly moving back to LI in february. this is decided.

Also, nextwave is the special kind of awesome.

and am downloading the wow patch as we speak. I cannot resist the pull of moonkin form. Shall spoil self and maintain COH account as well til we find a new mmo that costs nothing. shall look into guildwars.

btw, I finally attended monkeyhead with Derek. There is much wth the gamer stink, but twas good, as he kicked some arse in magic tourney, and we met some cool magic players at the end. I spent part of the time being distracted by the D&D game going on at the table next to us, which made me desire two things. 1) one of those write on maps like Adam has and 2) To be in a tabletop game. NOW. Am thinking of approaching Dylan (geek guy who i work with & had lovely conversation about the fact that we have 5 copies of "the furry anthology" with) if he plays pen&paper. there's actually quite a few geek types there who may play or may be interested... hmmm... this calls for a ZOMBIE GURPS campaign! the stripmall may be harder to secure than stonybrook though... damn zombies.

so ya, work today! i should rebug the manager about getting cashier hours again.

today has sucked thuroughly. I woke up to the lovely sounds of my family arguing loudly over my brother's continued credit problems, and will go to sleep after more argument over his failure to feed our dog until 11:30, when dad & i got home. In between i was reminded heavily of my shortcomings, annoyed by things that are supposed to exist for my amusement (CoH & Ryams) (joke) and bored to death by a very slow day at work, while simultaneously being chilled to death by evil ac system.

Also, a cousin of my mother's died recently, and she's currently at the funeral. The cousin's around the same age as her, and has a daughter my age, so my mom's been morbid lately. (this wasn't a sudden death or anything, as she was in the last stages of colon cancer andwas do-not-resuccicate)

So i'm accompanying my dad to my grandma's house, where we will plan her 90th birthday bash, then we may go to cheesecake factory for dinner (mmm). Then i get to visit with derek, before flying out the next mornin. (sorry all yous guys at stony, but i'm not around for longer, else i would be dropping in for visit.)

In different news, I may have been convinced yesterday to play City of Heroes instead of the mind eating WoW. WoW's been less fun for me lately... I'm not raiding cause i'm not on as much, and there's really nothing to do til the expansion but work on my rep & junk. anyway, I haven't reealy decided, will d that when i get back. anyway, it wouldn't be for good, prolly just til the expansion comes out. And i'm aware i'll prolly be just trading one MMORPG addiction for another, but this one will be with the STONY BROOK AVENGERS, so nyah!

kids at Barnes&Noble...

Very often at work, I get to see the most horrible parts of parenting: ie, the horrible horrible temper tantrums in public places when a child NEEDS that new toy/book(usually toy)or refuses to leave the play area that's set up near the computer in the childrens section.

Equally often, I get to see the horrible parenting... indulging a whiny kid, ignoring a child, and other such bad-parent cliches

sometimes i get to see parents try to teach their children about sharing, playing well with the other kids, and learning the value of money (!)

But yesterday I got to see a really joyful part of someone's life, as she realized her daughter could actually read, more than she thought she could. The girl was playing with the stuffed animals we have on sale, and when her mother asked what the name of the deer she had was, she replied "lost in the woods", which was what was printed in big letters on the dolls tag (it's to go with a little-known picture-photo book) Unfortunately, i had to leave to hep another customer, while her mom tried to find out if she had really read it, or if she knew from before what the doll was. (the mother was commentng on this development to another mother she had been talking to, she looked so proud of her daughter!)

anyway,.. enough happy squishy... back to your regularly scheduled emo

ya, ok... so the children's section is taking over my brains. I hear mom talking in the other room: "blahblahblahblahkatiekazooblah"

me: huhwahtnow?

mom: eh?

me: did you just say katie kazoo?

mom: whozat?

me:nmbbl

well, obviously not our actual conversation, butanyway... (*note: katie kazoo is a new kids series, and it's on sale right now... but anyway)

right, so, in other news... leaves suck, waking up early sucks, and i've recently come to realize thatmy mom's cooking has begun to suck. She made these stupid whole buckwheat pancakes today, and although i love pancakes, the memory of how horrible they taste made me lose my appetite for breakfast (gasp!). but yeah, now everything is whole grains and the same seasonings over and ovr again, and i;ve found myself prefering to make ramen or chef boyardee than eat our leftovers. it's bizarre.

mmm, my leftover sadness and general crappyfeelingness are fading away now... all due to the judicious application of good fanfic. fic cures all ills! and now i have a tempting little ficbunny running around my head for a SB/RL to RL/NT fic.
New Job

Well, as soon as I am able to catch up on LJ because of my bro's new compy, I get a new job which gives me no time for it. So I'm back to being on sparingly. On the bright side, I love my new job. Am working In Barnes&Noble in the children's section. It's awesome mostly because the people who work there are great, and I get happy when i can help little kids find a book (especially if it's one i loved)

In other news: my brother continues to be an idiot. I wake up this morning to a surreal conversation.

Mom: Do you get Playboy?

Bro: Yeah. (in a "i'm 19 I can do whatever I want screw you" voice)

Mom: Well, how are you going to pay for this with no credit?

Bro: Whaaaat? (in a "wait, why am i responsible for money" voice)

Mom: This bill that's two weeks overdue! How are you paying for this??

Methinks: aha, so that's why he always rushes to the mailbox, but never gets any mail that's adressed to him.

Dog: *licks himself*

Oh, also, my dog has started sleeping on my floor in my room after my little cousin set a pallet up there when he was visiting. It's kinda nice, especialy since my crazed cat has a strange aversion to my bed. She jumps off it like it's water or something.

so yes, in summation. Woo job, Idiot brother, cute dog.

need to update

have not done so recently. Have not had much time on the computer (and what I have had has gone to the evils of WOW) It's my brother's birthday today, so we got chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. He also has gone into major debt buying a way overpriced Sony Vaio, which makes noises like it has the devil in it. In brighter news, we may be getting wireless internet here, which will make my life so much easier, as i miss using my compy for internets, instead of this slowass one. Also, i hate AOHELL.

soooooo,ya. Stuff. Good. Want to come back to LI soon. Want to murder my family sometimes. All that good stuff.

so... ya. am filled with hate. It makes me gooshy inside
